More Progress!

Things are really coming along!  Interior trim work continues and we have been working hard on flooring.  There are lots of decisions to be made in the next few weeks including: paint colors, carpet, light fixtures, plumbing fixtures and counter tops!

Wade is becoming an expert in laying tile!

Our Interior Trim guy, Brent Evans, is the best. We are loving the crown molding, window trim  and pencil molding!

Those of you who have been in our home in Lehi will recognize the mantel.  It looks much better when there is an actual fireplace to go with it!

Its Been a While

It has been a few weeks since our last post.  The exterior rock and stucco is underway.  Drywall, mud and texture are complete.Interior finish trim is underway. We are tackling tile all by ourselves. Once that is complete, we will try our hand at wood flooring.    

This reminds me of E.T. when the government takes over their house.

Diagonal looks great, but man there is a whole lot more cuts to make.

After 4-5 trips to the tile store, Allison picked a winner. It took us half a day to lay it and make all of the cuts.

Progress!

Its been a while since our last post, but a lot has taken place in this time.  All of the HVAC, rough plumbing and electrical, insulation, roofing and all the related inspections are complete.  Today we started Sheetrock which will take a little over a week to complete, including mud, tape and texture.   After that, we begin interior finish work and then paint!

Windows!

While it does not look much different, a lot has been taking place. As you can see windows are in, but the the HVAC is complete, electrical is almost done, and the plumbing work is ongoing. We should have our 4-way inspection next week. Also the roofers are working on the backside of the house and that should be done next week.

Beautiful Day by the Lake

We are moving right along now! Framing is almost complete and we are starting HVAC, Plumbing and Electrical. We had a little adventure this week that involved a fire truck and a construction dumpster.  Luckily the dumpster was moved away from the house, otherwise this post would be a very sad nature.  Check out the dumpster in the picture below and recognize the color.  It was red earlier this week.

It has been a very exciting week! We went from having just concrete to the having this.  This week they will place the sheeting on the roof and complete many of the other framing tasks.  This is getting fun!
