We finally have some concrete evidence we are actually building a home! Foundation walls tomorrow! Take a look:

Do Over!

Well the month of November has come and almost gone and there is very little noticeable change, but work has been going on.  The city rejected the original recommendations of our soils engineer.  We are learning a lot about collapsible soil and what needs to be done to mitigate the effect of it.  The hole had to be dug down an additional 7 feet.  The dirt is then put back in the hole 8 inches at a time, hydrated and compacted to a 95% compaction.  It took about a week and a half to determine what needed to be done and another week to do the work.  We are hoping for concrete (pun intended) results next week.  Here are more pictures!

Digging a Hole (Finally!)

After two weeks going the rounds with the city on the property setbacks, hiring a surveyor and finding out the existing property markers were off by 13 feet, we are finally digging a hole!
